My experience with using Twitter as a personal learning network has been very positive so far. I have connected with many educational accounts including Edutopia, Eduporium, and Edublogs. This connection has made me feel more involved in the educational community. I have learned a lot from using Twitter as well. I have learned mostly from the account Edutopia. I have viewed many links that they shared about the new innovations in educational technology. I have also connected with educational gaming accounts. Classcraft is an educational program that allows learning in video game form. They have liked several of my tweets and I have tweeted to them a couple times. I also learned that using Twitter as a personal learning network is great in order to make connections for the future. I have not experienced any issues with Twitter so far. There have been no technical difficulties because the site is run very well.
The Web Page Design assignment is a very useful assignment. I am still setting up the skeleton of the website so there is not much populated on to the site yet, however I feel like I am learning very useful skills. One skill that I feel like I have improved through this assignment is the ability to design well. I have previously struggled to create an aesthetically pleasing design because I am not great with art. This web assignment has helped me improve my creative skills. This assignment also helped me understand how to embed using HTML code. I embedded a calendar in to my website through coding. This skill helped me understand how coding works and how embedding works. I also am working to embed videos as well as hyperlinks in to my website. A third skill I have learned from the assignment is web design itself. I have worked briefly with a "what you see is what you get" website generator before, however this assignment gave me an extensive view in to it. Learning how to structure text, titles, and images is important because it gives me a better understanding of web design. I am still in the process of creating the web site and as of right now I feel like there is nothing I could do differently than what I am already doing. This assignment will help me in my career. Teachers need websites in order to communicate information and resources with students and families. I believe that understanding how to create a website is important in order to be able to create a class website in the future that students and families will enjoy.

I have learned a variety of new skills from using Diigo. One skill I learned about is social bookmarking. Social bookmarking is the process of bookmarking, tagging, and describing useful links to share with your peers. This skill is useful because teachers can create a Diigo network and share resources that they like with each other. Another skill I learned from Diigo is annotating. I have never digitally annotated a resource before using Diigo in class. This skill is important because it lets members of a group see what other members think is important in an online resource. A third skill that I learned from using Diigo is adding descriptions on to a group resource. It is important to explain why you bookmark a site or why you highlight a section of an article so that other educators know what to look for on that site. I believe that Diigo can be used in three main ways: classroom resource sharing, inter-teacher resource sharing, and personal resource sharing. Classrooms could use Diigo to bookmark and annotate articles that are relevant to a topic at hand. This could be useful in a history course where students need resources for a paper. Another way to use Diigo is by sharing resources between groups of teachers. Teachers can use this site to share helpful teaching resources with one another. An example of this is if a group of economics teachers at a school formed a Diigo group to share economics resources between themselves. A final way to use Diigo is to enhance your own personal learning network. You can bookmark resources privately on Diigo and build up your own library of resources. This can assist you to better yourself in any field ranging from personal development to your subject area.
